I think one of my favorite plugins is the “Sociable” plugin. This nifty little piece is a simple easy to use plugin that makes use of all the social networking sites that are out there. Sociable is super easy to install, just upload it into your plugin directory and then activate the plugin in your Wordpress blog. Please click here to go to the site and download it.
When installed correctly, there will be small buttons at the end of each of your posts that your readers can click on to “Stumble, Digg, Mixx, Furl, Twitter, Sphinn” or any of the other social networking sites. There are (at last count) 72 different buttons that you can choose from. Choose one - or all of them, it’s up to you. Currently I only have the ones that I use most often. But I might add more at a later date.
You can also decide just which page you want them to show up on.
- Front page of the blog
- Individual blog posts,
- Individual WordPress “Pages”
- Category archives
- Date-based archives
- and also the Search results are your options.
The ease of others bookmarking your blog and sending them to the sites is so easy to do - that really, most readers have no problem clicking the link. And when you want to notify the social networking sites that you have a new post, this is a great tool to do it with.
